What is Yerba Mate? Yerba Mate is the name for the tree Ilex Paraguarensis and the infusion that is made from its dried leaves. Yerba Mate is the national drink of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay where it is cultivated and consumed by millions.
